Equestrian Centre Oxford Encapsulation with Solar Installation

The Challenge
This building was undergoing refurbishment for use as an equestrian training centre. Our client was having solar panels installed on the building, so our client wanted a waterproofing system that would work alongside the solar installation.
A liquid solution was ideal for this project.
Our challenge was to coordinate our services alongside the installation of solar panels in phases, subsequently providing a hassle-free solution for the customer.
The Solution
After initial meetings with the other contractors’ onsite, we examined their program of works. Elite waterproofing liaised with the solar panel installers and carried out staged works alongside each phase.
External works: Firstly, we cleaned the surface with a biocide to remove moss and live growth. Then our “full preparation” including hand detailing of the roof. Next the contractors fitted solar brackets, and we detailed and waterproofed these. Finally, we completed a full encapsulation of the roof with an instant set spray applied liquid waterproofing system.
Internal Works: A highly reflective liquid coating was spray applied to the underside of the roof. Providing full encapsulation and allowing a lighter internal finish.
The Benefit
Without the need for removal, the client received a waterproofed roof with encapsulation benefits, plus a solar installation and greatly improved visibility internally.
All the contractors involved cooperated seamlessly.
With a 10 year product and application guarantee the client has peace of mind.
